Processing power
The DiskStation DS720+ has been upgraded with a quad-core Intel Celeron J4125 2.0 GHz CPU (burst up to 2.7 GHz) to make storing and controlling of your data fast and hassle-free. It offers up to 13.1% faster file indexing in comparison to the predecessor. Thanks to efficient hardware and software optimization, the CPU achieves read and write speeds of 226 MB/s and 184MB/ respectively. The tough AES-NI hardware encryption makes your data secured against any malicious threats.

Easy assembly
The DiskStation DS720+ contains two slots for 3.5-inch SATA 3 hard drives, with support of maximum 18 TB capacity for each HDD, or 36 TB in total. The HDDs are accessible through opening cover from the back, which is held in place by couple of screws. It also contains two slots for M.2 NVMe 2280 SSDs, which when installed allow for faster system cache creation and so all-round smoother operation. Additionally, this system can be expanded to up to 7 drives with optional Synology Expansion Unit DX517 to store even more data. NB: hard drives are not included.

Ultra-quiet
No need to worry about loud and obtrusive fan noises with the standby noise of 18.4 dBA . The fan speed can be adjusted through app on your computer.

Snapshot feature
Snapshot Replication provides schedulable and storage capacity-saving data protection with up to 1,024 shared folder backups and 65,000 system-wide snapshots.

Redundant storage
DiskStation DS720+ allows you to setup your HDDs in RAID 0/1/5/6/10 configuration to create data redundancy. The RAID 1 means that two HDD become an exact copy of each other, and so data transferred to HDD 1 is simultaneously mirrored to the HDD 2. It creates a safe-guard net for your data, as if HDD 1 fails, none of your data is lost as it is securely backed up on HDD 2. The RAID 5/6/10 work on similar concept but are more suited for multiple HDD configuration. Intelliversioning technology keeps the most important file versions to better utilize storage space.
