Chassis
Crafted from rigid aluminium alloy, the chassis of the new MacBook Air is just 1.56 cm thin and it weighs merely 1.25 kg. That is an easy fit into your travel bag or backpack, and less heft to carry around.

8th gen. performance
Powered by 8th generation dual core Intel Core i5 processor, the MacBook Air can run several processes simultaneously without lag or slowdown. When more power is needed, the processor can switch to turbo mode for extra performance edge. It is accompanied by 8 GB fast LPDDR3 RAM and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 617.

Retina display
The 13.3 inch Retina display uses crisp IPS panel with over four million individual pixels - indiscernible to the naked eye. With higher contrast and wider color range, the screen delivers outstanding color rendering and impressive results for professional photographers, designers and graphic artists. And the super-slim screen bezels provide less distraction to the eye while cutting down on physical size.

Keyboard and trackpad
The keyboard has backlit keys with improved butterfly mechanism for consistent and reliable response at each keystroke. The larger Force Touch trackpad supports touch sensitive actions, fast-forward action, multi-touch gestures and Force-click.

Touch ID
A Touch ID sensor is integrated in the top right corner of the keyboard. The sensor recognizes your fingerprint and allows you to securely unlock your MacBook. You can also use Touch ID to make payments through Apple Pay. The sensor uses improved T2 security chip for robust on-the-fly file encryption, secure boot process, smoother SSD storage management and broader Siri voice control features.

Thunderbolt
The MacBook Air has two reversible Thunderbolt 3 ports with up to 40 Gbps transfer speed that act as multifunctional line between the MacBook and external devices. The ports support DisplayPort video output to run one external 5K screen at 60 Hz or two external 4K DCI screens at 60 Hz.

Operating system
The innovative macOS Mojave provides deeper and more powerful features for you to be even more efficient and enabled. Switch to Dark Mode for comfortable use in low-light environments, organize your files neatly using Stacks, snap dynamic screenshots or have the photos from your iPhone show on your Mac immediately. You can also make FaceTime video calls with up to 32 participants and discover headline news or stock updates through new built-in apps.
